While Flora x Fauna Skin began to take shape as a deeply personal passion project in 2022, in truth it started long before that, rooted in my lifelong love for alchemy and herbal potions.

It was inspired by my own journey, my connection to nature and its elements, and my understanding of the need for truly clean, whole-body-conscious skincare.

For years, I have worked hands-on to research, formulate, and source each ingredient with care; without investors or outside agendas. Every product in our line is created from scratch, no shortcuts, no white-labeling. This is so we may honor the values of purity, sustainability, and whole-body wellness.

I officially launched the brand to the public in September 2024 after extensive behind-the-scenes work, and I am so proud to be offering the intentional, small-batch skincare that started it all.

I wanted a name that symbolically wove together the different elements of nature that inspire and shape my formulas. Flora represents the botanicals, fauna honors the gifts from the animal world, and the X marks their collaboration, the meeting point where these elements unite. Nature is the designer; I am simply the alchemist bringing its wisdom into each creation.

I carefully designed our brand mark to embody the meaning behind Flora x Fauna. It represents the elements of nature and their deep interconnectedness. The sun beside the waves, all encircled by the roots and leaves of a blooming flower. Together, these symbols reflect the harmony of earth, water, air, ether, and light that inspires every formula.

No. Flora x Fauna Skin is an independent, founder-led company and is not affiliated with any other brand using the words “Flora” or “Fauna” in their name.

We are the original Flora x Fauna Skin, although the X may be silent in the name, it is our mark of authenticity and the one to look for when you want skincare that meets our exact standards of purity, sustainability, and whole-body wellness.

Nature is a deeply intelligent ecosystem that has so much to offer. After all, why else would synthetic products and pharmaceuticals often be derived from an active ingredient that is extracted from something found in nature, so that it may be chemically altered and patented?

Our products offer the opportunity to experience the power of these holistic ingredients without the negative impact on hormones and overall health that conventional skincare may come with.

Essential oils, also known as volatile oils, seem harmless enough at first glance but upon deeper investigation you will come to realize they are quite intense.

Nowhere in nature would we be exposed to any plant in such high concentrations at one time.

It takes about 250 pounds of lavender to create 1 pound of essential oil, that alone is extremely unsustainable and speaks to the potency of these volatile oils. More isn't always better.

Some studies have been done showing hormone disrupting, estrogenic properties in certain VOs as well, causing gynecomastia in some men. I have personally had experiences with skin sensitivity and reactions from products containing these oils, even with dilution.

The founder of a brand called SubLuna has a comprehensive resource you could download that offers wonderful research and information in understanding the nature of essential oils/VOs, that I encourage you to look into.

We totally understand why you might think that because there are many products out there that do.

The beef suet used to create our tallow is rendered multiple times in order to ensure that it is as pure as possible. We also use high quality, grass-finished suet which is from around the organs versus the fat trimmings. Both of these factors contribute to an odorless, final product -- meaning it does not smell like beef.

The cattle are raised on grass that is not sprayed with pesticides, or herbicides. They are also never given antibiotics, hormones, or steroids.

We strongly encourage you to bring your order inside as soon as possible so that the extreme weather does not change the consistency of the products.

However, here are some tips for if this happens!

• Sol Cleansing Balm: If your balm melts while sitting on your porch just bring it inside and it will resolidify at room temperature to be as it was intended. If it freezes, still bring it inside and it will eventually come down to room temperature again.
  

• Cloud Cream: If your cream melts while sitting on the porch you can always just let it come back to room temperature inside.

• Bio Escent Serum: If at any point the serum solidifys from cold temps before you can get to the package outside, just bring it inside and give it time to come back down to room temperature.

Yes! We do everything in our power to create consistent products, however being that our products are handcrafted in small batches with whole, natural ingredients there may be a slight variance in appearance and scent.

Most often orders will ship within 5 business days of placing your order, however in some circumstances such as holidays it may take longer.

Tracking information will be sent to you upon shipment.

Please reach out if your items becomes lost in the mail and the tracking is frozen.

Although this process can take time, we or the customer can file a claim with USPS.
